Dr. Shimrit Tsiporen’s performance in Carnegie hall was described at the NY concert review “Tsiporen.. commanded one’s full attention with her mature artistry in Pastorale and Toccata from Five Pieces for Piano, Op.34 (1943) by Paul Ben-Haim“ (2017). A multifaceted musician Dr. Tsiporen performs both as a Pianist and as a Soprano. Tsiporen’s expressive and subtle sound enlivens audiences and engages them in memorable affecting experiences.
Constantly seeking to connect with her audiences Dr. Tsiporen regularly performs in concerts as diverse as formal and backyard concerts and concert meditations. She regularly communicates with her audience either by speaking and introducing the music, or by “meet the artist” sessions after her performances.
Tsiporen is a nurturing educator. In her studio she teaches productive practice habits, creative problem-solving skills, strategies for ease of memorization and confident performance skills. A special emphasis is being put on healthy stress reduction and mental focus on stage. This work helped her students achieve many of their career goals.
Dr. Shimrit Tsiporen has graduated from the Mason Gross School of the Arts of Rutgers University in NJ USA as a Doctor of the Musical Arts. Her dissertation analyzes the sound as a virtuosic element in Debussy’s set of piano etudes. Shimrit holds degrees from The Buchman-Mehta School of Music in Tel-Aviv and The Rubin Academy for Music and Dance in Jerusalem.
